Description

The discovery of Machu Picchu  in 1911, considered one of the most important archaeological events of the 20th century, yielded the finest collection of Inca buildings in all of Peru. Located in the Andes Mountains more than 2,000 feet above the Urubamba River, Machu Picchu reveals much about Inca royal traditions and religious rites. At the same time, there is enough mystery about the site to inspire the imaginations. In this slide lecture, professor Jeff Mishur discusses Inca building practices and highlights some of the important elements of Machu Picchu
