We have 2 ways for you to search the catalog. Both of them contain the same information, but you can search however you feel most comfortable. Encore is a quick keyword search and Classic allows for more specific searches.

Register for a New Library Card

You can now register online for a Library Card. Place holds and search our online databases right away from home!

Residents of the Village of La Grange are eligible to register online for a NEW library card by filling out an online form. To renew your existing card, visit the library.

When you apply online, you will receive a temporary library card number that expires in 14 days. Use the temporary card number to place holds on books and movies and access online resources. Visit the library within 14 days to complete the registration process and receive a permanent library card number. You must bring a valid photo ID and a current preprinted form of identification that has your name and La Grange address as proof of residence in order to receive a permanent library card.
