Improve Your Driving in 2010!
 
The Library now offers the AARP Driver Safety Program to all adults.  This two-day safety course can help improve your driving skills and may qualify you for a discount on your car insurance. Classes will be held on Tues., Feb. 16 and Wed., Feb. 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. and Tues. March 16 and Wed., March 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $12 for AARP and $14 for nonmembers.Registration is required for the February class and the March Class.

Snapshot Day





Visit the Library Wednesday, February 10, 2010!

On this day, libraries across Illinois are participating in “Snapshot: One Day in the Life of Illinois Libraries” by collecting information, comments, and photographs from events in a typical library day.

The results will offer indisputable proof that libraries consistently provide invaluable services to our community.

Please stop by that day to check out a book, participate in a program, or just share your comments about the value of your local library. 



  Winter Reading Program:
Warm Up to Your Library
 February 1 - 28
 

Now is the perfect time to participate in the Library's new Winter Reading Program geared for ages 7 & up. Pick up your Winter Reading card at the Patron Services, Youth Services, Young Adult or Reference desk. It's like Bingo, but easier! To play, simply complete a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, “on your honor.” When a row is complete, fill out an entry form and return it to the Library to enter to win a prize.

 

The Grand prize is an overnight stay and 4 indoor waterpark passes to the Elmhurst Holiday Inn Mayan Adventure Waterpark. Other "cool" prizes include hot cocoa, chocolates, food from Chipotle, and Chicago Wolves memorabilia.
