The Board of Trustees of the La Grange Public Library is seeking a dynamic, outgoing and creative Director to lead and manage library operations. The ideal candidate will hold a clear vision of the La Grange Public Library as a service driven organization and will come full of ideas and experience in assessing and meeting the needs of the public. We are looking for an individual who can be the face of the Library in both the La Grange and greater library community and who models the standard and philosophy of service for library staff and trustees. La Grange is located 14 miles west of Chicago, is on the Metra line, and has a population of 15,608. La Grange is a mature community that has both a small town and urban feel. It has maintained an image of quality and stability by offering a diverse selection of housing alternatives, an established central business district and excellent library, park and school systems. The Library is housed in a new state-of-the-art $10,000,000 facility. The collection includes over 94,450 items with an annual circulation of over 153,850. The staff consists of 41 employees (28 FTEs) and the annual budget is over $1,863,000.

Minimum Qualifications: MLIS or MLS degree from an ALA-accredited library school. Seven years of progressively responsible, professional public library experience, at least 3 of which demonstrated management ability in administration, budgeting, planning, fundraising and supervision.
