Storytimes

Storytime introduces children to early literacy skills as well as the library through a half hour of stories, songs, and a simple craft. Parents also have the opportunity to learn new stories and songs with their children and meet other parents. We offer Lapsit Storytimes for children aged 6 months to 23 months and a full schedule of Storytimes for children 2 to 5 years old.

Saturday, September 25 and October 23, 10:00-10:30am

The entire family is invited to a special storytime designed for children with various needs. We’ll have stories, songs, fingerplays and a simple craft. This storytime is designed to encourage children to participate while having fun in an atmosphere that is comfortable for the child with special needs. We encourage pre-registration, so we have enough supplies for all children attending.

Children ages 6 months to 6 years are invited to take part in a storytime presented entirely in Spanish. These storytimes will be presented by a native Spanish speaker from Language Stars in Hinsdale. This is a perfect opportunity for native speakers to hear a storytime in Spanish as well as for non-native speakers to experience the Spanish language through picture books, song and other activities appropriate for preschoolers.
