When the new library opened its doors, the Tyler Duelm Activity Room was unveiled.
Friends and family of Tyler Duelm generously donated to create the Tyler Duelm Activity Room. In 2007, at three years old, Tyler lost his battle to brain cancer, but his memory and spirit lives on through the Tyler Duelm fund, a project that his family began in order to facilitate fun and unique library programs and workshops to the children of La Grange. The Duelm Family still actively raises funds to support these programs.
Hundreds of children have enjoyed story times, after-school programs, and summer reading programs in this cozy, welcoming space through a series of programs called Tyler's Time.
Opportunities for Giving
In order to continue offering these fabulous programs, we need your help. For $25 you can purchase a leaf for yourself, a friend or family member, or in memory of a loved one. Consider a leaf as a gift for birthdays, graduations and other special occasions. Each Leaf owner will receive a personalized leaf on the Youth Services Department wall.
