Coronavirus & the Library

The Library takes community health seriously. We are actively monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus) news and taking into consideration the latest recommendations from public health experts.

Returning Materials, Blocked Cards & New Library Cards

  • Returning Materials: As of Monday, May 4, we are accepting returns of La Grange Public Library materials via our book drop. Check the barcode on the back to see if your item belongs to La Grange Public Library. All due dates have been extended to June 3. And remember, the La Grange Public Library does not charge late fees.
  • Blocked Cards: Any La Grange Public Library cardholders with temporarily blocked cards for overdue materials can still use the Library's digital and streaming services, including Hoopla, Kanopy, Flipster, etc.
  • Library Cards: While the Library is closed, please register online for a new library card to utilize our online services. Expiring library card expiration dates have been extended to July 4.

There are many Library services that can be accessed from home using your Library card. For additional info and help, see our E-Library page, or scroll down to see our digital and streaming services. We've also added lots of new resources and activities to the Kids Virtual Library, Teen Virtual Library and Adult Virtual Library pages of our website.
