Starting Monday, November 23, the La Grange Public Library will be open for curbside pick-up; in-building services will be available by appointment for La Grange cardholders at a limited capacity in compliance with Tier 3 Mitigations.
We encourage patrons to keep visits brief and grab & go; computer and work/study space use is allowed for up to one hour. We also encourage patrons to limit their interactions with staff to 10 minutes or less whenever possible. Make your appointment online, reserve a work/study space online or call 708-215-3220.
Upon arrival for your scheduled appointment, please ring our front doorbell and Library staff will review safety guidelines and answer any initial questions. Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required at all times for anyone age 2 and up, and food/drink are not permitted. Patrons are also asked to stay home if they or a member of their family is currently ill or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19.
For curbside pick-up, patrons will receive an email when their holds are ready for pick-up. Please call 708-215-3200 when you arrive at the Library to let us know you are here to pick up your materials. You will need your library card or library card number. Holds can be placed via our website, or by calling 708-215-3200.

Help Keep Everyone Healthy
- Wash your hands regularly! Restrooms and hand sanitizer are available. Water fountains are currently not available.
- Ensure your face covering is over your nose and mouth throughout your Library visit.
- Food & drinks are not allowed at this time
- Keep your visit as brief as possible
- Return your items in the exterior book drops
- Be aware and maintain social distancing of 6 feet.
- Keep your children with you at all times. If you need help locating materials, just ask.
- Library staff are not handling cash; any payments must be made with a credit/debit card
What We Are Doing to Keep You Safe
- We are regularly cleaning repeatedly touched surfaces, including the self-checks, door handles, elevator buttons, stair rails, computers and service desks.
- Playspace toys and iPads in Children’s Services are unavailable at this time.
- Much of the Library’s seating has been removed and any remaining furniture has been distanced.
- Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building.
SERVICE INFORMATION FAQ
Reserve our study rooms on the second floor, or *digital studio #2 or the board room on the lower level for up to 1 hour per day (maximum of 4 hours per week). La Grange cardholders can make their reservations in advance online, or by calling 708-215-3220. Make your online reservation via the Visit tab of our website, or go to http://lagrangelibrary.evanced.info/spaces#.
Face masks are required while using the study rooms. The board room can be used by up to three members of a household unit. All other rooms are available for one person at a time. Cleaning supplies are provided in each room and patrons are responsible for sanitizing the space before use. Access cards to lower level rooms are available at the greeter desk, and keys for the second floor rooms are available at the second floor Adult Services desk.
*Must be 14 or older to reserve the digital studio and 18 or older to reserve board room
No Late Fees & Account Information
Just bring it back! The La Grange Public Library eliminated late fees in September 2019. However, if an item is 21 days overdue, you will not be able to place holds or check out new materials. All returned items are being quarantined for 3 days, so if your account is blocked due to an item in quarantine, contact our front desk for help with your account. Thank you for your understanding.
Curbside Holds Pick-Up
When you arrive to pick up your holds, call 708-215-3200 and let us know you are here to pick-up materials. Your holds are not being checked out to your account in advance of your visit. Please have your library card or library card number available when checking out. You can also download the SWAN Libraries App for iOS or Android devices which will store your library card number and bar code.
*Your hold(s) will not be available for pick up until you receive an email, text message or phone call stating your holds are ready.
Public Access Computers
Computers are available on our 2nd floor (Adult & Teen Services). We’ve also added an express computer in our lobby along with a printer/copier/scanner for convenient 15-minute or less sessions.
You can send print jobs from your home or device to the Library and release them when you arrive! Please visit the Library to release your print jobs within 24 hours of sending. Use Print from Anywhere.
Please return materials to our exterior book drops, open 24/7.
Interlibrary loans are available at this time.
Online Classes & Programs
Many of your favorite programs and classes are happening on Zoom. Check out our Events calendar to see what’s coming up!
Reference and reader's advisory service for all ages is available at our Children’s, Adult and Teen Service desks. Account assistance is available at our front desk in the lobby. We encourage patrons to limit their interactions with staff to 10 minutes or less whenever possible. When you arrive, check in with our greeter and let them know if you have questions so they can guide you to the answers.

Friends of the Library Book Sale & Donations
The Friends are not accepting donations at this time and book sale items are currently unavailable as we work towards a cashless solution for book sale purchases.
