Six-Word Story Contest

Grades 4-Adult
Legend has it Ernest Hemingway was challenged to create an entire short story in just six words, thus creating a new genre of short story telling, the six-word story. We challenge you to write your own story using only six words, no more and no less. Your original story can be any genre and in any language. Entries will be displayed in the Library and all participants will be entered into a drawing for a prize in each of the age brackets. No registration required. Complete the six-word story form.

Hack that Painting
Monday, June 7-Saturday, July 31
Grades 4-Adult
Show off your creativity as you reimagine a classic work of art! Pick up or print off a copy of a famous painting then put your own spin on top of the artist's original work using markers, paint, glitter, paper collage or whatever inspires you. Bring your new masterpiece back to the Library so we can display it all summer long! All artists who return paintings will be entered into a drawing to win an art kit from Bottle and Bottega. This program is open to anyone in grade 4 through adult.
