16-year-old Alice and her family are in Paris for the summer trying to figure out what to do with the apartment her grandmother bequeathed to her, an apartment nobody knew existed. As Alice starts investigating why her grandmother kept this a secret from everyone, she finds her grandmother’s sister’s diary from the 1940’s, shortly before the time her grandma left France for the United States. This sends Alice on a quest, with the help of her new friend Paul, through Nazi-occupied France to discover lost secrets.
